| Say the wiimote came first. then 10 years later dual shock made its first appearance. Would dual shock catch on, or whould it fail?

| Are you saying 15 years of Wiimote, THEN DUALSHOCK?

| I have no idea. If wiimote came first whether it be 15 year or 5, would dualshock thrive?

| Hellz no, it's the only controller that's not an arcade stick that works for fighting games.

| If I interpret the OP correctly, we should regard the Wiimote style controller as the reigning standard. Under the designation dualshock we must then place all controllers based on the one pad/two sticks/several buttons/rumble as a new invention never before used (let's just call it a gamepad....). Under these conditions I believe a gamepad would receive quite mixed receptions. Surely many would believe it useless for FPS style games. Fighting games fans will obviously love it for its arcade-like precision. Ultimately it would be down to which company would introduce it and how well they would market/hype it.

| It would get a similar (as far as support [mimic the 1st party] and acceptance [rejection followed by people not knowing what to think, and then possibly catching on]) treatment as the Wiimote is getting except that it might have trouble since you are alienating the hardcore and it isn't approchable by the casuals. Note: This post is in no way ment to be taken as a prediction or judgement of the Wiimote |
