My only complaint is that the wiimote has just a tad too little buttons(<-even myamoto admited to this), and it needs a gyroscope...Makes it harder for the developers to get the controls stable...

besides that I think the wii opens up much more possiblitys, and encourages developers to make the controls more inviting. The wii is a bit of a nudge off the beaten path, and I completely aggree that it isn't apart of the natural cycle of the other consoles. If it's fun then it's irrelevant...If I want graphics I'll use my pc, and I do have a 360 for more classical fps's...The wii imo still has its place.

Ok first off I have been watching these forums for a while (and for a chuckle) but I had to sign up to reply to this thread.

I don't see a handheld as a casual machine it's all up to what game you choose to play. Nintendogs may be your more casual game while there are other games that are more "hardcore" (I hate that expression).

In any case if you play ANY game on ANY system for 9 hours straight I wouldn't call that hardcore I wouldn't even dare to admit that I did it.

And also I'll take a good game with Doom II graphics, over most modern day FPS games that are all about graphics with no real content.

You're tellin' me. I got my Wii about two months ago and I've already got five games, and there are at least another three or four I want to get before the year's over.

If it's a good game, of course they would. What kind of gamer would avoid playing good games just because they're not on a console with HD graphics? That's not a gamer, that's a a fanboy or an elitist/graphics whore. A gamer cares about the gameplay, the story, and the overall experience, no matter what form it's in.

I don't play FPSs anymore because they are still the same as they where 10 years ago (except graphics and don't even get me started on the online community)
