Think about this, there's already been a huge game on the 360(oblivion), a game that was supposed to be like halo 2 and a half(perfect dark 0) and a few other freat games. Halo 2 came out withing 12 months of the 360, meaning anyone who wanted a halo experience on the 360 has got it. So I really wonder the impact of halo 3. Yes, it's had alot of media attention. But all i can see this translating to is game sales, not console sales.
No it will move lots of consoles in October, but not September.

Your probably right but you seem to be implying (correct me if I am wrong) that Halo 3= <200-250k console boost (assuming 150-200k normal), you are almost defenatly wrong about that.

I think what we have to remember is that the 360s user base is smaller than that of Halo 2s launch of the Xbox. Everyone who owned Halo 2 who hasn't got a 360 yet isn't miraculously going to get a 360 and Halo 3 at launch. I may be wrong and if I am, fair enough, but I don't think we'll see as big a jump in sales as everyone is predicting.

Not so sure PDZ was a gr8 game 1 of rares worst. anyways, It's not so much Halo 3 that will push sales. Halo is a phenomenon in the gaming world like star wars was to film. anything with Halo stamped on it will sell. 4 mill preorder for Halo3 just in Gamestop. I'm from U.K. I would estimate that the preorders here are around 2-3 mill. Add the rest of the world and the other chains in america. This will probably sell more than both halo 1 and 2 has to date (14.8 million)in maybe just 4 months.

You are incorrect. I am to tired to explain why though. Can someone give it a go?

4 Mil pre-orders in the US and you expect there to be 2-3mil in the UK? Are you kidding me? If the UK alone reaches 1 Mil pre-orders for Halo I will give you $20. There are 4 Mil pre orders in the US, but we have 300 million people...thats compared to the UK's 60 million. So you expect 2-3% of your entire population to pre-order Halo 3? Sorry, gaming is popular, but no that popular.

I'm pretty sure the "4 million pre-orders for Halo 3 in NA" was debunked a while ago. I thought it was more like 1-1.5 million now.
