Based on the numbers released by EA it is 1.71:1 in Europe and the Wii had a 3 month headstart. (That's in 2007) But considering it beat the 360 1.47:1 in Europe, I'd say that's the major thing.

That's two links, the first is Hardware Unit Sales, the second is Production Shipments.
