But we don't. If they are going to pull out.. they will do it sooner rather then later... Sega announced its intent to pull out a year and a half after the Dreamcast release. PS3 is coming up on 1 year... If they are going to pull out (I doubt it) I would expect them to announce it sometime in the next 8 months rather then later.

Why do they drop out sooner rather then waiting for the saving grace. MONEY. None of them care about us, just money.... Sony already has lost as much as MS has lost on the Xbox and 360 combined (and PS3 doesn't have any issues as of yet) They will not continue if the PS3 keeps poor sales though Christmas.

I totally agree. If, and I do mean IF, Sony decides to pull out, they should logically do it within the next year. After all, better pull out sooner than later when you are actually loosing money on each console sold.

They'll probably firesale, before pulling out.

Don't forget, Sony has tied Blu-ray to the PS3. They need both to succeed, and they'd sell the PS3 for as little as possible if they felt Blu-ray being threatened. Consoles sales are small potatoes for what Sony could potentially make from Blu-ray.

I don't see Sony pulling out due to one console. Hell, the PS1 and PS2 did amazing, why would you call it quits after one bad round? So, far they knocked down the big N a huge peg and knocked out Sega all together, also their handheld is doing very well compared to any other company thats ever gone against Nintendo. I'd say the PS line has been very successful, this is just one bad battle. The war continues...

Exactly, the PS3 is doing very well considering it's only now started getting good games and the cost. As much money as SCE has lost on the PS3, the PS, PS2 and PSP have made it a lot, lot more. They know that and with Kutagari gone, things have been looking up.

Nintendo took marketplace abuse for two generations and then come back with the best selling console to date, they didn't drop out and start making third party titles, which probably would have been the easier option.

Being "last" doesn't meaning losing, especially if you build a strong First party library, offer people what they want in terms of games, which is exactly what the Sony first party devs do for me.

Kratos is a great mascot, what better mascot than one who will kill everyone.

Kratos, best mascot ever. Way better than a bloody Loco Roco.
