Having to delete games is just annoying. You decide you want to play something, so you have to delete another game first, then go and download what you want to play.

I will of course say that the lack of a hard drive on the Wii isn't as stupid as releasing a version of the 360 that nobody really wanted, and not include a hard drive.

Of course if Nintendo has any interest in beefing up their online options, they really do need to have some sort of hard drive for it.

500 megs is enough for doing what it does.

But once the hard-drive comes out

Capping Wii Ware around 50Mb is absolutely dandy. N64 games were smaller than that and were brilliant so it'd be fine. Hopefully Nintendo will allow us to save games onto SD Cards although official external hard drives would be preferable.

I assume the wii ware stuff will be like the VC games: each considered a channel which we can save on SD card. But yeah, HDD is needed in the long run.

I don't think you need a lot of space for a game filling in the WiiWare category. Was it Mario64 filling 8mb?

HDD would be cool for the Wii with good potential, but I'm really sick of add-ons.

Has anybody read this article? News - WiiWare file size limit disputed // Wii /// Eurogamer

Nintendo denies the Size Limit and says that initially only one game will be released per month per developer to soften the blow on your memory. Dunno if this source is accurate or not but it seems on the level. Still, I hope Nintendo does something. Whether it is a hard drive add on or a size limit.

the system keeps track of all downloads.

I can see the reason for the cap being that, well, you can just redownload stuff. You dont need to have EVERYTHING stored.

But like I previously said.. while we can redownload stuff now, what happens in 6-10 years from now? Nintendo can shut down their service at any time, but if you don't have it stored then, you're pretty much screwed.

I highly doubt theyd shut it down. Most likely it's something thatll continue with each system they make.

I dont see the necessity of a hard drive, but I can see them releasing one eventually.

They really need a hardrive. Lots of re-downloading will be going on if I get one of these games.
