| Square Enix. I mean, we get around 13 FF Titles, then they make a Versus, Hasaris and Agito for each one. Then they add a FF(Number) Internatinoal. FF:CC, Crisis Core, Releveant Wings etc. And THEN they make remakes of the Mainstream games.

| Oh that does get annoying. I don't really like SE FF series to begin with anyway, just a game here and there. Like I said, remake what makes money and people will buy it over and over again. Virtual console and xbox arcade have games at insane prices that came out 80 years ago, all of them can be downloaded for free on the pc.

| Games cost less these days. SNES games were like £60 a pop, now I never pay more than £40-45 for a new PS3 game.

- Super Mario - Paper Mario - Mario Kart - Mario Party - whatever Mario sport they think of and other misc stuff including RPGs. (I consider the first 3 to be the main franchises and the others to be spinoffs) As far as I know, they only mixed two of these franchises in Super Paper Mario, the rest I see as being totally different from one another. In other word, they are not so much milking a Mario franchise as they are milking Mario himself. But as long as a game is good and fun, I don't see where the problem is. I do agree however that Nintendo needs to create or revive other IPs, but at the same time, when they do, people tend to ignore the new stuff. The Cube got what? One game that falls into the Super Mario franchise (Sunshine), one that falls in the Paper Mario franchise, one Mario Kart, and a few Mario Party and other Mario sports/RPGs. So in other word, it's not the Super Mario, the Paper Mario or even the Mario Kart franchises that are being milked, it's the rest. And about Zelda and Metroid... the Cube got.. Metroid Prime one and two, and 2 Zelda games (Wind Waker and Twilight Princess). Basically if someone would only buy the main Mario, Zelda and Metroid stuff, they would have bought only 7 games last gen for their Cube... The fault lies within the Nintendo console owners.. it's them who have to let the companies know what they want by buying what interests them. If a new IP doesn't sell, chances are there won't be sequels. |
