Nintendo really should consider some sort of an FPS franchise for the Wii. The point and shoot capabilities of the Wiimote have been looked at very favourably this far. Nintendo could also benefit from some sort of tough-as-nails new character that would appeal to an older audience. Doesn't need to be rated M to totally go against their norm, but an FPS by Nintendo could be a big seller that really shows how well motion sensing can work in a game.

The gamers that complain about Nintendo not coming out with new IP's are the ones who think the same as I do.
Erm, yes?

Doesn't get anymore badass than MPR and Call of duty.

Master chief is just samus in green so I don't see the problem.

Metroid's not something that falls in as a traditional FPS. I'm talking a new game built from the ground up as an FPS. If you consider Metroid as the answer to what I was asking for then they might as well stick Mario into an FPS and call it new.

Sony and MS both has other sources of cash so that they can sell their products at a loss for extended periods of time.

The same principle holds true for software as it does hardware. Sequels will sell. It is a conservative approach to making money in this business. I do think that there is going to be some new Nintendo IP this generation but it'll arrive well into the future. Nintendo didn't want to put resources into such titles so close to launch as they didn't know how successfully the Wii was going to be.

Don't you think adopting the DS and the Wii is rather radical than conservative, I don't deny Nintendo's tendency to be conservative though.

I'm not saying Nintendo shouldn't invest in their great lines of IP, I'm saying they should invest more in new IPs. Your point about the launch is quite reasonable, but still doesn't contradict with the call that Nintendo should work more, and harder.

Think what you want. I'd still venture to bet that most people who opted for a 360 or PS3 (the "hardcore" crowd) wouldn't consider the Wii ____ series to be real games. They're a mini-game compilation at best. If you fail to see that, then I can't help you.

I reckon they should let N-Space do a Wii FPS, They've proven themselves to be good developers with CoD4 DS.
