Going to the Book and Movie analogy... Not all books and movies ARE "fiction" or well, stories. There are encyclopedias, cookbooks, documentaries, etc. Something like the Brain Age series is the first successful attempt of this sort. For video games to grow as a medium, it needs to embrace the fact that not all games should be stories.

But still video games have a lot to do in the story department since most videogames have the narration of childrens books and some very few have the narration of books for pre-teens

Let's see, the Wii has been out for about 1 year. It has just released it's flagship titles. With the last one ocming in a few months.

It's new IP's have only sold decently on their previous consoles, but they still have many left to release.

Give them time. They can't let out every single title they have within one year. We'd have nothing the rest of the generation.

some of these non-games have been out for less than a gen and have already outsold some your fav. franchises that have been around 3 times as long.

Just keep in mind that the more you bash them the more you bash some of your fav. games.

let's put it like this, say some fat, smelly, dirty, poor kid comes to town and owns you in everything

you can make fun of him all you want but the bottom line is, he beat you
so the more you degrade him the more you degrade yourself as he has shown superior skills in some areas

not that he's a better person than you, but he still did beat you, so instead of being bitter and bashing, maybe you could at least give him some credit
