I really can't believe people on this site actually want to debate this fact. Of course it is a casual game. Everyone knows what it is. Everyone I know who plays this game is nothing more than a casual gamer.

The difference between "Nintendo casuals" and "Halo/xbox casuals" is one group plays "kiddie" games where the others play "dumb guy" shooting games.

Halo is the biggest casual market on the planet. Get over it.

I'm curious why SMG was singled out. Yeah, it's a darn fun game. But most of us Hardcore Wii owners are patiently waiting for our 'killer app' AKA SSBB.

=D

THEN that'll sell MORE Wiis and push, I dare say 2 mil easily.

That is if they make enough of them.

I feel so bad for SMG, it deserves to shine!(no mario sunshine reference).
Wait, since when was Metroid Prime 3 designed as a casual game? When was it marketed as a casual game?

I'm gonna go play it soon and let you know what I reckon Waa Waa. Oi, did you get my Metroid friend voucher? What does it do?
Well, to bluntly answer your original question: You were expecting too much out of mario galaxy. The reasoning behind my statement is that it is performing better than any other mario game to date, but that still doesn't put it in rank with halo sales. Basically, mario just isn't as popular on a per title basis right out of the gate. Mario games are usually one of the biggest games on the platform, but they have never been as front loaded as the halo series has been. When it's all said and done, Mario Galaxy will sell AT LEAST 5 million WW. I just wouldn't expect much of that 5 mil+ to come within the first month. Does that answer your question?

And no, I never got your friend voucher. I haven't booted up MP3 in a while.

I'm too OCD to tolerate character death!

It's one of my favorite games right now. The only real fault I can find in it is the voice acting in the (rare?) cut scenes. The narrator's fine but the other actors are straight out of the early PS1 era. Simply atrocious.

i agree, the visuals in the cutscenes are awesome, but the voice acting is simply horrendous. i ended up watching several of them over on the net in japanese, cause even tho i couldnt understand a word they were saying, it sounded so much better. you are talking about RD right? cause im going back through PoR right now and im wishing they kept the same actors for the RD ones....

Regretfully haven't played PoR. Seriously thinking about back tracking and getting it now though.
