Secondly, it doesn't matter how you spin this. The sales of one game, regardless of circumstances, don't prove that wii owners in general don't buy games. The Wii has several million sellers already from 1st and 3rd parties. People are paying over $100 for GHIII Wii on amazon because they can't find it in stores. RE4:Wii absolutely crushed Capcom's sales expectations (expectations: 420,000. Actual sales: 1 million to date) and Umbrella Chronicles is also likely to beat Capcom's expectations (700,000) possibly by the end of this year.


Also, 400,000 thus far in JP + 500,000 first week in NA + whatever it's sold in EU suggests that the chances of Mario galaxy selling less than 1,000,000 in it's first month is not good. it may have arguably sold 1,000,000 in NA alone at this point.


Just... no. Everything about this from ignoring Mario Galaxy's sales figures to ignoring Halo 3's absolutely HUGE marketing push to pretending that one game proves anything... just, no.

Er what? Metroid was on Nintendo's big 3 list for games that are coming out that will be awsome and will be at least nominated for GOTY. I don't seem to recall Prime 3 on million sellers lists.

i think when this gen is all said and done SMG will handily beat mass effect. the big mario saga only comes around once a generation, rpg's come out all the time.

and Brawl will put up a decent fight with Halo. look at last gen, melee was like 1.5 mil behind halo2, and when you are up in the 7-9 milion range, thats pretty respectable.

between the 2 sets of 3, im not going to make any definitive statements, but i do think that the 3 ninty ones will have slightly longer legs being ninty powerhitters on a ninty console. as good as bioshock and mass effect (and even halo) are, they are parts of genres with lots of choices and i think that as time wears on, they could suffer a little from it.

and metroid was probly in there for three reasons: 1 she is one of nintys main 3 characters, 2 wii options always win polls here, and 3 wii doesnt have all that meny big games to choose from.
