| So, if Mario Galaxy doesn't sell over 1 million copies (really at LEAST 1.5 million) in it's first month, does that mean Wii haters/NON freaks were right? By that I mean, if the BIGGEST game the Wii will ever see and it's probable best or second best seller (first may be Smash) doesn't sell by the truckload, does that mean that we were right, Wii owners only bought their Wii for WiiSports? I ask this because as we all know, Halo 3 sold 3.3 in a couple of weeks, let alone a month. Not to mention pushing 400K consoles in the process. With the Wii now SURPASSING the 360's userbase, I find it should be reasonable; if indeed the Wii's userbase is NOT mostly casuals and kids and grandmas and the like, that Mari oGalaxy shoul be able to TOP Halo 3 or at least match it no? Just curious is all. Because I remember Nintendo reporting 'ínternal''sales figures that they sold 500K in a week or something, which still seems WAY to low for such a huge release. I mean, Halo 3 sold 430K in month 2. So am I asking too much of Galaxy? or is Halo just really that huge in the videogame industry? |

| Halos too huge. Also the Wii hasn't beat the 360 in NA yet. However, I do think that SMG Should sell at least 1 Million in the first month

| I just dont see how any Wii game can get the same reaction as Halo. When Halo came out, every (or the vast majority) of 360 owners knew about it, and inteneded to get it. The Wii has a totally different demographic. I would call the vast majority of them non game savvy, and also say that many of them would not be interested in a game like galaxy. So while the Wii does have a larger user base, I think its striking demographics make it impossible to have single week/month game sales, comparable to something that the PS3 or 360 could do.

Wii fans still believe the majority of their userbase ISN'T casuals. The sales for Mario Galaxy should prove one thing...that the only people who bought Mario Galaxy are the hardcore (or whatever term you want to use) gamers that own a Wii. The majority are still playing WiiSports. |

| I've had the argument with many of you this year. I've had most of you trying to tell me that most Wii owners AREN'T casuals. Now, I'm trying to say if this is true, shouldn't a great game like Mario Galaxy sell like Halo does? Don't you remember all the polls and arguments over which will sell more?| Mario, Metroid and Smash were always used as the pillars of Wii software selling success. Those of us WITHOUT goggles/blinkers on, tried to tell Wii fans, that Halo will likely beat all 3 COMBINED. Let alone adding Mass Effect and Bioshock to the mix. |

| while i would respectfully disagree that the "vast" majority of wii owners are not interested in SMG, i dont think 1-1.5 mil is unreasonable and i think it will hit that as well. also, i dont think that simply because someone does not buy a must have game in the first month makes them a casual. wouldnt that make about 6 million 360 users casuals since only 4 million bought halo3? there are still several people on this site alone would havent gotten SMG yet. |

| Summary: If SMG sells 1 Million+ in Novemvbers NPD then Eds wrong. If it dosen't then we're wrong..

I should have rephrased. When we were all having those millions upon millions of polls as to what will sell better, Metroid was always one of the Nintendo "big 3". Now, Bioshock and Metroid sales were pretty much on par, which leaves Galaxy and Smash to beat Halo 3 AND Mass Effect. |
