| As a Wii fan, I totally agree. I'm also very jealous of the PS3/360 version of Ghostbusters and very, very disappointed in the Wii version. It's horrible. I truly, truly hope that the developers will get their act together and start treating the Wii as a "next-gen" console on par with the PS3 and the 360 instead of pairing it up with the PS2 all the time. Even though the Wii isn't nearly as strong as the PS3 and the 360, it can still produce some nice graphics - as shown in Super Mario Galaxy (yes, old argument :P) - and the developers should really use that - or at least put some thought into it. My hope for the Wii hasn't died yet, but I sure hope that more great third-party titles will be on their way. |

| The problem is mostly because of stupid 3rd parties influencing other 3rd parties, and the fact that the PS2 is still going strong. If some 3rd parties make shit that sells and bring them money, other 3rd parties will want to do the same, and if they would just let the PS2 die (would also help the PS3 IMO), then the devs would at least have to put some more efforts in the Wii version and not just make it a PS2 port. I'm still holding until mid 2008 before judging the 3rd parties too harshly based on the fact that so many were surprised by the Wii success and needed some time to create decent games (the current best games on the 360/PS3 and even the Wii has been in development for over 2 years, so expecting great things in less than a year from 3rd parties is silly). Just as with the DS, I'm expecting the better 3rd parties games to come no sooner than a year and half into the system's life. That being said, I find it very sad when some of the big publishers disreguard the Wii as being worthy of big new IPs and direct sequels and only get spinoffs. While I can understand the inability to port the sequels to the Wii because of it's power, I'd rather see new good (emphasis on good, as opposed to stupid shit like "Horsez") Wii specific IPs instead of cheap spinoffs. |

| Yeah but if they are making Soul Calibur 4 and been working on it for years, is it fair for them to go off the project and make Soul calibur Wii exclusive new edition, good version?

| is it fair for us to get trailer trash games made in 6 months? why not have a different team make the wii version, or even make a wii version afterward? a delayed game is good eventually, a bad game sucks forever

And to elaborate more about what I said, I'll take the example provided by Sharky: the Ghostbuster game. They are already making 2 versions: a 360/PS3 and a PS2/Wii version. Should they ditch the PS2 version, the second version would be really built from the ground up for the Wii and not a PS2 port. While that wouldn't necessarily make it better, it would at least feel more like a Wii game and not yet another PS2 port. But yeah, I'd rather see more Wii exclusive rather than second Wiified versions of what the 360 and PS3 are getting. |

| Eventually you're going to run into a hardware limitation, where a company is going to want to make a game that requires more advanced physics to create a more realistic experience. You really can't do that on the Wii. As for Soul Calibur, I get the feeling they're going to want to at least appear competitive with other titles like Virtua Fighter and Tekken, which are using more advanced hardware. If this is the case, then they're going to want to focus on that competition, rather than devote resources to the Wii that they may need.

| I think the Wii will get it's games soon enough. If the rate of sales continue the way they've been over the last 12 months then developers will have to concentrate more on it. At the moment though, i'm enjoying my Wii and xbox 360. I get the best of both worlds.
