Wow, it took 20 years but they finally pissed me off.


I spent a LOT on my import copy of Megaman X Collection to find that the disc swapping trick doesn't work with that game (Does the disk swapping trick still work btw? Wow I hope so..) and then a bunch more on a freeloader so I could play it. (How foolish of me to try and own a legitimate copy of a game I wanted instead of just downloading the roms)

My gamecube died about a month before the wii came out (coincidence?) so I guess I have to return the game for less than half of what I bought it for, since I can't exactly be screwed formatting my wii and reinstalling the updates everytime I want to play Metroid.

WHY DISABLE GAMECUBE FREELOADERS? Thanks again Nintendo, for raping PAL territories as usual.

I'm sure I'll forgive you though.

Why use a freeloader when you could get it modded, and thus effectively nolonger region-locked?

hmmm... difficult one this. Despite my usual liberal stance on these types of issues, i've decided to that they should be banned completely. It appears there's still a little facist in me!

It's not fair that some people get to have the games for free when others have to pay full price. If everyone got the games free then the manufacturers wouldn't make any games (or at least any decent ones)

Lots of good points. I'm thinking if Datel makes their Action Replay for the Wii and Nintendo blocks it, there very well could be a lawsuit depending on the circumstances.

IIRC, in the ToS of the console it does say that any tampering is bad. Modded games saves is tampering. If you want to tamper with your game saves without the ramifications, buy a console that doesn't have that clause in the ToS (which I think they all have).
