In all seriousness. Take away the "ZOMG It's Marioesss" factor away, and look at each facet of both games.

I think Ratchet and Clank is the better game. Obviously people are going to feel differently on which game they LIKE better, but Ratchet looks and sounds better (for obvious reasons out of anyones control), it handles better (you can only know this by playing both), Is a MUCH longer game, and breaks up the gameplay more than Galaxy does.

Galaxy is still awesome, it just means Ratchet is just....more, awesome. Seriously, if you know a PS3 owner who has it, go and play it with an open mind. Remove the Nintendo goggles you have on (same way I was forced to remove my Sega goggles when I played God of War) and you will see how amazing Ratchet is.

I re-read my post and realised that it came out as he got fired for a bad review. I know about the Kane and Lynch thing. I went through this on the GAF days ago. The idiot should have been fired anyway, just not for THAT review.

My point was, fanboyism exists in jounalism too and Cassassamasamasamnina is the worst one of the lot. If you honestly believe fanboys don't exist as jounos, there's something terribly wrong. Half of them ADMIT they are fanboys.

Certain games carry the weight of expectation so heavily, and are hyped to the tilt by the MEDIA, that when review time comes, they put themselves in a position where they HAVE to give it a great score. Look at Ninja Gaiden. Perfect example. I kept a close eye on that game the whole way through development, and it was being billed to be the greatest game ever. Clearly it wasn't, but still got top reviews despite not deserving a single one of them.

Doesn't matter how great a game may look or even feel, a BROKEN camera kills ANY 3D game. Which brings us back to Muzza. His camera isn't broken, but at worst, it takes away from the gameplay enough to dock it's score a bit, at fanboy best (Cass) it's a'minor' inconvenience.

Now, before you mention Halo 3 (or anyone else does). Halo 3 didn't carry expectation. Allow me to explain. Halo 3 was going to sell 3.3 million no matter what the reviews said. It's Halo. With the way even great games sell on the Wii, the reviews are actually pretty important to a game like Mario in terms of helping sales. Look at Metroid. Great game, great reviews and it still underperformed badly. Please, don't mention advertising and hype. Halo 3 was NIL advertised down here and sold a truckload. Metroid was advertised MUCH more than Halo here and it barely sold.

The Metroid franchise has a long history of classic games, not a single on of them is bad. Yet it never seems to register much in sales. It's Nintendo's typical audience just going through the motions of their usual buying patterns.

Please don't misunderstand. I said to Waa Waa when I first got Galaxy. It is a FANTASTIC game and even worth buying a Wii for. But I still can't see how a game that so closely resembles a 12 or 13 year old predecessor can be seen as the best game of all time. I know you mentioned the controls as being a GOOD thing relating to M64. I never said it was bad. I just said it had a 'dragging' feel. Whereas Ratchet is ultra sharp and responsive. I was stating how RC is BETTER, not Mario is BAD.

If anything there is a higher probability of there being more fanboys of 360s and PS3s than Wiis in the gaming review industry due to not only the amount of gamers who have one but also due to the demographic the game is aimed at. There are fanboys but I refuse to believe your conspiracy theory that all 50+ journalists that reviewed SMG are fanboys because it's pure steamy bullshit and a really poor excuse.

Yeah and what about Liar, Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted. All failed to break into a 90 average and all were deemed as the next OMG BEST GAME EVAS. It just doesn't work that way at all.

Fuck off. Seriously, that paragraph is the biggest load of shit I've seen you come up with so far. Halo had loads of expectations. It was deemed the biggest game of the century and countless other things. Everyone was going on about how it was goiung to be the be all and end all FPS. It had tons and tons of expectations. Just because it had millions of guaranteed sales doesn't mean that people are expecting nothing of it. I don't know what you are smoking but I sure as hell don't want any.

Tastes change, Metroid has never been very popular and as a matter of fact, MP3 has outsold MP2 anyway so your point is pretty much null and void. Sure it did sell millions like other, arguable, inferior FPSs have and will continue to do but it improved on it's predocessor which is start.

Why were you so hyped for Halo 3 then? What is your GOTY anyway? As I meantioned before, many reviews mentioned that R&C is very similar to it's predocessors so how is that a way in which SMG is worse off to R&C?
