depends on what game you're playing

also keep in mind it was made to be used as a pointer and sideways as another controler

Chibi has played games where both where nearly perfect
Chibi has played some where you have to reach all the way across

I don't even hold my arm up for stuff like that. My arm is either against my couch on lying on my lap with my wrist pointing the remote to the screen. Same positioning as if I was using a regular controller now that I think about it,

Funny, when I want to relax in a game I rest my controller in my lap. Handling it like this eliminates the need to raise my wrist to do anything.

Rest your arms on your lap, both hands out, and pretend you are holding a traditional controller. You'll notice that your wrists are already pointing up. It's the same position I'd use for the Wiimote. If you play with your arms/hands in some other sort of position that's fine, I'm just saying using the Wiimote like that requires no extra effort.

But the biggest bonus is definitely having a free hand that doesn't always need to be on the other end of the controller.

Am I missing something here or are nunchuk-less games more popular than I thought?

Are you implying that the Nunchuk makes it worse... ? You basically just hold it there since it has no pointer. It also frees up your other arm a lot more (than a traditional controller).
