Default Wii Remote

I know a lot of people love the Wii remote, and see it as revolutionary, but for me its been the reason I sold me Wii to get a Ps3, and now a Xbox 360 to.

There are a few games I would really like to play on the Wii,
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Metriod Prime 3
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
The New Pokemon
Mario and Sonic at the olyimpics
Endless Ocean
Zelda Twlight Princess

The list goes on...........

because of the Wii remote I've chosen to miss out on these games.

Its annoying once the novelity wears off, does not feel right on solo games always having to do motions, doesent feel like your gaming.
Cant explain it well enough but the fact there isnt a choice (from what im aware of) to not use the Wii Remote.

Could Nintendo include a normal controller as another option if you do not want play using motion Wii Remote.
If I had the choice to be able to revert back to normal controller on Wii games I would have certainly kept hold of it.

Could this happen in the future

I posted a bit in regard to this in the Leonidas please thread, so I'll repost it here since it applies.

This was in regards to what Nintendo should be doing while advertising Smash Bros.(which you can play using the classic or Gamecube controller).

Then they also need to play up the fact that you don't actually have to use the remote and nunchuk to play the game. I know Nintendo has been pushing the motion sensing the whole time, but they've obviously realized that some games can work better without it, and they really should come out and admit as much. Some games, like Wii Sports have truly benefited from having motion control, while other have felt the need to do little more than replace a button press with some pointless wrist flick even though it does nothing to help the game. But it's the Wii so they need to include motion control.

Would the "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" rule apply to the Wii remote?

I played Zelda for a while, but struggled with the controls, since I sold the Wii I bought a Gamecube to be able to buy Zelda Twlight for that.

Mabye supporting the Cube for first party titles could have worked, so the big releases came onto cube as well.
Smash bros brawl and metriod etc

LoZ:TP is a gamecube game, so you won't miss much unless you don't have the money to drop on a used one which is probably 50$ now :$.

As far as I am concerned, the WiiMote is a great tool, but like every tool, it gets used to death when it is first introduced. Flash animations are a great example. a couple of years ago EVERYONE used flash and it got annoying quick. Now people actually know what the hell they are doing with it and when to use it.

Some games might be better off without the WiiMote by using the classic controller. However, I still prefer the WiMote in the games I have played.

edit: Just for the record, 99% of the motions work with a simple wrist flip. If you can't enable yourself to expend that kind of energy, then you probably should be in a hospital. If you just don't enjoy it, then you learned a lesson that not everything is for everyone. While tons of people might enjoy the Wii, you don't have to.

I think the choice to be able to use either could work, mabye just dont market the fact you can use gamecube controllers for the games so it keeps the media focus on Wii Remote more.

If Nintendo made the Wii Remote optional for all or most its future games, Id certainly buy the Wii again.

The Wii Remote is great in Multiplayer games, Wii sports and Wii Play, The Sonic and the Secret Rings games uses the remote well to.
But while playing solo it's annoying for me, not for everyone of course.

If Pro Evolution Soccer ever got onto the Wii I dont see how it can work as well as on a normal controller, could be proven wrong of course.

With Motion Control not being everyones taste then wouldnt it be a wise move for Nintendo to give a choice?
For a small cost(i think) it could gain more market share from it

Zelda feels great with it, as does Metroid. Mario doesn't feel right to me.

Aside form the dumb pointer, and waggling to attack, it RARELY gets used. Classic controller would have been great for galaxy.

OPETH, PART of the problem (while I do understand your initial concerns) is that the Wiimote isn't quite how Nintendo intended it to be. I think mainly because we haven't reached that sort of level technologically yet.

The only problem with that is that motion sensing is what the Wii is built on and a big part of the reason most people buy it.
