You've now made the console into a torture device for me. I have a console with a controller I don't like, plus I can't play the games I want.

Maybe death would be better.

I've been playing a lot of unreal, COD4, and Crysis lately. Aside from the brief fun that was Halo 3 it seems shooters on consoles are pretty pointless. Inferior controls, inferior graphics.... and lately its been stretching out to all sorts of games. I haven't touched my Elite in 3 months.... whats the point? Only game on it I wish I had for pc is crackdown (mods would be nuts). Assassins creed came and went, same with Mass Effect. Huxley is the only mmo I really have been interested in lately.

It's a lose/ lose.
Or you could just start doing sports for real...

The average PC FPS > The average Console FPS

The Best PC FPS > The best Console FPS

The top PC FPSs = The Top console FPSs

Equal.

PC has better game options (like mods or custom servers) as well as more control options.

Console is more even (Since someone can buy a super mouse or something, for instance, giving them an inherent advantage, but game controllers are pretty much about equal) with gameplay, as well as having features like multiplayer on one system, and of course not needing to upgrade your system just to play the latest shooter.

It all depends on the game, really.

pc. kb/m >>>>> dual analog

console fps multiplayer was only decent back in the days of splitscreen. With broadband being in just about every house now, pc gaming in general is better

I am sorry but what. Splitscreen FPS's were worse off because of well, splitscreen on small TV's and jerky shotty single analog or no analog controls. PC and Console FPS's are currently pretty much on par graphics wise, and multiplayerwise. The only thing that it really has, and this is purly a matter of opinion, is the KB/M combo. Yes in the final stages of the current gen consoles life PC games will indeed look better, but then the next generation of consoles comes. Also to play games on PC and have the graphics better then 360 or PS3 you need a fairly expensive computer, at least one that costs a few hundred more then a PS3 or 360. I had to buy a $300 videocard to play Crysis on full settings..

Again the only thing that PC FPS'S have over consoles is KB/M and thats a matter of opinion nothing more.

And if console manufacturers wanted, they could easily support keyboard and mouse. There's USB ports on all these systems. Howfully, its probably more of a logistics problem, needing to design drivers, etc. for these systems to be able to use these, and apparently nobody wants to do it because no games on current gen with the exception of FFXI on 360 have keyboard support, that I know of.
