COD4 pretty much beats anything Halo can throw at it..........................unless its forge, saved films, the party system, custom games, and the fact that predominantly more people play Halo 3 over COD4, other than that Halo has a short and unvaried campaign and a lackluster multiplayer with a crap melee system, total weapon control tactics, and crappy maps, not to mention the map packs they throw out; 3 maps that should have been in the original game for 1/6 of the game? REALLY?

I notice a lot of compaints about the Halo 3 campaign. I had an absolute blast playing it, and even more so on co-op. "Unvaried", really? Every level is different. Jungle, snow, desert, structures, tight corridors, wide-open maps with a lót of different vehicles on land and in the air... I dont think that qualifies as 'unvaried'. Or is it just me?

I do think that the CoD campaign had a bigger wow-factor though, but the absence of co-op was a bit of a dissapointment. (I really, really like co-op, best way to enjoy games imo.)

Riddle me this, why do you think most people who hate Halo hate it because they only have a PS3?

Just because I respond to your illogical points with more illogical points doesn't make your points logical.

My vote is that they're both pretty mediocre games.

sure its set in different levels, but there needs to be more vehicles sections, larger scale battles, more varied enemy encounter like more encounters with Hunters (you only fought them like what? twice?)
From what Bungie was describing in their updates, it was massive, I still remember how they claimed one small encounter had more enemies than the entire first level of Halo CE, bullshit
and some levels were really short like Floodgate and Halo, not to mention the LACK of levels. Honestly 9 levels really isnt that much not to mention 2 short ones and an extremely annoying one with annoying scurrying ranged pureflood

I would like to see what you think of the CoD4 campaign... Going by what you haves said, it was even less varied than Halo 3's campaign.

I have had more plain, simple, fun while playing Griffball than I ever had while playing a game in Call of Duty 4. The most fun in Halo 3 is when you get together in a party with a bunch of your friends and fire up some forge created maps. Probably even just as fun is a game of Zombies on Sandtrap: the rush of adrenaline you get when you are the last or close to the last one who is not a Zombie, when you are with a friend driving around in a Warthog just outside the normal playing zone (where the underground bombs come up and try to kill you) and you both know you are the last ones alive... CoD4 has nothing like that. Also Halo 3 has vehicles and is a lot more chaotic, which I like. There are also some basic aspects of CoD4 (feature wise) that I don't like: lack of splitscreen Xbox Live for one, the way you sometimes you get dumped in a game that is nearly over, etc. To me, it is like asking which is better: Babylon 5 or Star Wars? The answer is quite obvious.

On the campaign front, Halo 3 wins only slightly. Mainly because of this. CoD4 does have a better storyline than Halo 3 and has a lot more powerful moments in the game, but I don't like it as much because the combat is very narrowed throughout most campaign and I prefer Halo 3's open ended combat over it. There were also those points in CoD4 where you came across those situations in which your enemies just keep on coming and coming and coming until you past a certain point: I don't like that. Halo 3 has skulls, up to 4 player co-op, meta-scoring, awesome vehicle battles.
I laughed really hard at that for some reason.

I think they are both very different games, even though they are in the same genre, and I like to play them both depending on what I want to do.

I like them both. There's certainly only one thing in similarity and that is that they're both a FPS.

COD4 is more of a realistic game and even more hardcore than Halo. It's fun, but it really limits its audience. The multiplayer is fun and addicting and you can customize your weapons to your liking.

Halo 3 is known through out the world and really just about everyone has picked it up and tried it once. It's multiplayer is more fun to mess around on, you can much more customize your game types. And the party set up is far superior to COD4 (Giving host to other people, etc).

I'd say they're both fairly equal, though it's hard to deny that Halo 3 has about a trillion more MP options as COD4 has - and COD4 has a lot as it is, so that's saying a lot.

What makes Halo 3's campaign so awful for everyone is beyond me. It's hard for me to think of an SP FPS campaign that's so much better and I've been playing games for a long time. I think because Halo isn't "new" anymore people find it more boring, but there's really very little that makes the campaign "bad" and adding 4-player co-op only helps the experience. But seriously, are any campaigns for FPS's really all that different from the next? People are just hating because that's the "cool" thing to do.

I have to admit, though, right now I'm way more addicted to COD4, but that could only be because most people I know are also playing it all the time. If they were playing Halo, I'd probably be on that instead. I just wasn't crazy about Halo's maps.
