COD4 vs. Halo 3

So I was seeing that COD4 beat Halo in NPD sales in December and decided to see what everyone thought was a better game. Also, do you think COD4 will catch Halo 3 in overall sales at some point?

I like the CoD4 campaign better, but they're equally good in multiplayer!

COD4, though the campaign felt shorter than most shooters i've played, it was still dramatically awesome!!!Especially when Zakaheav(dunno how to spell his name) gets "Shot" down!

I really like the campaign modes in the CoD games but for some reason dont really dig the multi. Its like the opposite with Halo 3, dislike the campaign but the multi is sweet.

For multiplayer, it is definitely Halo 3. Saved Films, Forge, the level of customization when creating a gametype. Halo 3 is just simply more fun to me. I have had more plain, simple, fun while playing Griffball than I ever had while playing a game in Call of Duty 4. The most fun in Halo 3 is when you get together in a party with a bunch of your friends and fire up some forge created maps. Probably even just as fun is a game of Zombies on Sandtrap: the rush of adrenaline you get when you are the last or close to the last one who is not a Zombie, when you are with a friend driving around in a Warthog just outside the normal playing zone (where the underground bombs come up and try to kill you) and you both know you are the last ones alive... CoD4 has nothing like that. Also Halo 3 has vehicles and is a lot more chaotic, which I like. There are also some basic aspects of CoD4 (feature wise) that I don't like: lack of splitscreen Xbox Live for one, the way you sometimes you get dumped in a game that is nearly over, etc. To me, it is like asking which is better: Babylon 5 or Star Wars? The answer is quite obvious.

On the campaign front, Halo 3 wins only slightly. Mainly because of this. CoD4 does have a better storyline than Halo 3 and has a lot more powerful moments in the game, but I don't like it as much because the combat is very narrowed throughout most campaign and I prefer Halo 3's open ended combat over it. There were also those points in CoD4 where you came across those situations in which your enemies just keep on coming and coming and coming until you past a certain point: I don't like that. Halo 3 has skulls, up to 4 player co-op, meta-scoring, awesome vehicle battles.

I'm a 360 owner so I can play both.

They're both good at what they do. Halo 3 wins feature-wise because it has online co-op, saved films and forge. But in terms of quality and fun both games are equal in my opinion.
