Installation frustration is a PC problem. Don't let it near my consoles, bitch.
I agree with this. The only console to really get the concept of caching right was the original Xbox. It had a hard drive and the caching it did was completely transparent to the user - as it should be.

Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are a step backwards from the previous generation in this regard.

So it is better on the PS3 because? You actually have to install the game!!

I thought it had something to do with the Cell

Only the power of the almighty CELL BROADBAND ENGINE allows you to actually copy game date directly to your hard drive!

5gb is a lot but hey come on guys a couple of extra load times isn't going to bring the end of the world. Lets just appreciate the fact that we are going to spend 60 bucks on a good game

The 360 does do some caching, but due to the Core and Arcade bundles, it's nowhere near as much as the Xbox did.

News: Capcom responds to 20 min DMC install - ComputerAndVideoGames.com
There's Capcom confirming the 20+ minute install time, but they also claim that it'll give you near SNES load times. They also mention Alan Parsons Project for no apparent reason.

You know, the loading times are probably something you'd only notice after playing the PS3 version.... for most people, it won't even be an issue.

I'm surprised so many people are up in arms about this, when 1Up (I think) said Burnout Paradise looked better on PS3, but 360 version was better overall because of custom soundtracks.
