Default IGN says: Devil May Cry 4 better on PS3

No, the edge comes in the fact that the PS3 installs a large amount of game files to the hard drive, dramatically reducing load times between stages and cinematics. I've timed the game on both systems numerous times, and each time has been consistently in the PS3's favor. Transitions to gameplay from starting menus are relatively close, frequently within half a second or so of each other, but when you're loading up a cutscene or having another pause in the action, the 360's times are easily three times that of the PS3.

Ouch. Does the game use the hard-drive cache deal?

Mmmm more taking up of space :P

Sorry but to me consoles aren't about INSTALLING files. I will always feel that way. (slight caching fine, but required space to install files NO) Even if it does speed up load times a bit here and there..

Also 3 times is what... 3 times 3 secs? or 3 times 1 min? 3 mins is a bit extreme but 9 secs is nothing.

Like the review said...

"PS3 winds up winning out just slightly. It's not in the gameplay department, because DMC4 plays the same regardless of which system that you play on. Nor is it in the visual department"

If we are really getting down to load times to be the deciding factor in what is 'better' we have to start saying the basic truth.... they are about as equal in the end as 100 pennies or 1 dollar.

well thats what you exspect for a game made from the ground up for the PS3, better controls as well, shame the graphics will be limited though due to the spesalised devleopment

Article stating that it takes nearly 22 minutes for Devil May Cry 4 to install on the PS3 before you can play it. That's craziness if it's true.
I'll quote this post that I made in the PS3 general discussion thread, as it may just be relevant here as well.

Oh, nice blow to it there boffo.

Ouch, 23 mins faster in total over the whole game then the 360.

"Following that the opening load time on PS3 was five seconds against eight on 360. And then three seconds versus four, and four versus five seconds in following load screens, PS3 - 360. As you can see there's not much in it."

I guess 'better' is realitive to who payed IGN to decide where to place bias.

I won't believe it until more sources confirm it. I remember someone saying that Assassin's Creed sometimes took 5 minutes to load between levels, and that turned out to not be true.

I'll probably believe the mere seconds part, but I won't believe the 22 minute install.....yet.
