Sure there were a few articles saying the PS2 was ugly, there were articles (probably sourced from Nintendo, MS and Sega) saying that the PS2 would never match the PS1 and stuff but widespread anti-PS2? Nothing of the sort.

| The biggest mystery to me is why anyone would willingly choose the Playstation controller...please someone explain this to me. That thing is terrible!!!

| I dunno about the DS3, but Six-axis was dreadful. It felt cheap, and too light. The analogue sticks were too close together, and weren't stiff enough.

| I think what people forget about 2007 is that Halo 3 was released that year which boosted 360 sales considerably in USA. PS3 is performing solid not spectacularly in Europe and Japan with the 360 behind it in both regions. Sure, the gap is a lot bigger in USA than it is in both those regions but 360 has had it's absolute be all and end all exclusive (quote me on this but if Halo 4 (or whatever they call it) comes out on the 360, it won't boost hardware nearly as much as Halo 3 did) while PS3 has at least 2 to come (MGS4 and FFXIII). In Europe despite the 360 having Halo 3 release, it didn't manage to sell as much as it did in 2006 (see EA's numbers) which shows how it is dropping off with the PS3 coming out. Last year in Europe the 360 sold 1.9m in 12 months while the PS3 did 2.8m in 9. Now that the PS3 has also had a massive price drop, sales will continue to go strong, it happened to the PS2 and it'll happen again. If we look at the 2007 totals including EAs's numbers (JP + NA + EU): PS3 = 1,131,412 + 2,825,500 + 2,800,000 = 6,756,412 360 = 234,345 + 5,005,200 + 1,900,000 = 7,139,545 Considering the 360 had a big price advantage, it's biggest game and nearly doubling the PS3s sales in US in December it doesn't look too good. Sure, it beat it by nearly 400k but it'll need to buck a trend if it is going to hold on for long. Now that the PS3 has had a price drop and has more games coming out this year than last, it doesn't look good. If the PS3 doesn't outsell the 360 worldwide in 2008 I'll... Uh, I don't know but it will. Last edited by Juno; February 5th, 2008 at 01:31 PM. |

| The gap is as big in Europe as it is in Japan.

| It doesn't seem that big at first glance.

| You also have to bare in mind the March launch of the PS3 in Europe.
