^ man, that's one cluuuuttered interface.

This is what my interface looks like at any given moment on FFXI (sorry for lower res image - I'm running it windowed to take screenshots of the interface - can actually make the game look much better, but it would eat up too much screen real estate to be useful).

There's a load of MMORP's rumoured or confirmed for PS3.

Square-Enix, NCSoft, SOE, others...

That's why 99.9% of MMORPGs will NEVER be on consoles. Quite frankly the PC version is 2-3x better.

If they did port it to the console, they would require a KB/M to play it because controllers suck for MMORPGs.

I think people that say MMORPGs won't work on consoles are looking at what MMORPGs are now instead of think what they could be in terms of making them console friendly. I also think the same can be said about developers. Consoles need their own MMORPGs, geared towards workig with controllers rather than ports of PC games built around having millions of buttons available to the player. I'm not saying I have any bright ideas but I'm sure there is a way to make it work wonderfully. From what I played Phantasy Star Universe it does it pretty good but I didn't play it much as I don't really like the PS franchise.

Actually, I think it very well may be the only game where you can play on a PS3 with someone playing on an Xbox 360.

You don't have to know Japanese to talk to someone from Japan, you don't need to learn French to talk to someone in France, etc. It's all handled through the auto-translator function in-game, which is one of the slickest features I've ever seen for social dynamics.

Can't recommend playing it on a console, though - the PC version is better.

Age of Conan looks like a bad ripoff of WoW. Nothing much new to see there, just a different IP.

Speaking of WoW, I'm surprised Blizzard hasn't thought about going to the console market. Then again, they probably don't want to get bogged down by console hardware, particularly memory limitations.
True, but WoW came out in 2004. Surely these newfangled consoles could handle it. Heck, the Wii can probably run WoW at reduced settings (mediumish graphics wise).

HOO-AH!

Actually I don't care if the game is four player, It's FF;CC yo.

(Do you think the price of FF Online is justified Icemage? To continue a debate I had with someone else months ago?)

Oh no you didn't!
AoC has isn't at all like WoW. Ok, it's a mmorpg, like WoW. It will have pvp, like WoW, it will have lvls, skills, instances, like WoW, but then the similatities stops.
AoC will have combo based skills, and you direct your attacks instead of "klick enemie press 4 4 2 auto attack auto attack dead"
You even get to direct which way you will block with your shield.
You don't even mark your enemy as in WoW, you lock on to the one that is in your "Cone view".
AoC will also be more of a pvp game where you can have siege combat. AoC also has mounted combat with rhinos and mammoths among other.
Also the graphics of AoC > WoW.
If you are looking for a WoW clone, look at Warhammer online, and even that isn't really a clone.

Also, please stop calling games WoW clones when WoW hasn't come up with anything (ok a few things). WoW took things from the games before it and put it together in a succesful MMO.

Enough about that. I think AoC will end up quite good on the 360 with the directional attacks. You have a "combad rose" with 5 attack directions and make combos out of that, it will fit well with the controller.

my rouge on WoW uses a combo based system, the more i chain together certain attacks the higher my combo meter rises increasing critical hit change and damage... or i can unleash it as a final attack with different effects depending on the attack and level of the combo... age of conan aint a WoW clone its just a standard mmo just like WoW... im just wondering what the controls will be like, hopefully it will be geard correctely
