if by hardcore you are referring to the current gen console games, i assume you mean games that have some form of scaling difficulty which the hardest setting still being piss easy compared to most games made back in 1990's

of course the term of hardcore may have changed... i consider hardcore to be TFC... you know the game people whine and dont play because of "TEH GRENADE SPAM" so much so valve removed it for the sequel therefore making it a current gen tardcore game... and this is the problem there is no hardcore anymore, people are afraid to make them, there is only tardcore or casual as people call it

Halo 3 = tardcore
bioshock = tardcore
masseffect = tardcore
HL2 = tardcore
DMC4 = tardcore

every things tardcore... of course im not saying thats a bad thing but unless your playing TFC, tribes 2 or below rock solid online games theres really no way you can call anything hardcore

They weren't even talking about hardcore games. They were talking about hard drive sizes.

As far as the OP goes, the PS3 very well could have a poor year in 2008 but that doesn't mean it'll do bad world wide. MS is the one whose doing poorly outside of the US and with the Wii shortage, it'll be Sony who gains.

MS really did blow their chance to gain popularity else where. The one move MS made towards this was launching early and the only thing they did to hurt themselve (and its a big one) is the RRoD. Even with the extended warranty and free replacements, MS has harmed the brand name due to poor reliability. The other advantages MS had to take significant market share away from Sony were Sony's own mistakes (high launch price, medicore first year line up of games etc.).

What's funny is that IBM only announced their INTENTIONS to shrink the cell and nearly every article about it said "IBM shrinks cell," as if it already happened.

I'm not saying it's going to take them long to do it, but they haven't actually done it yet.
