There are plenty of games these days that are just trying to get into an establishing market. Many people lived through the time when major companies were just getting started and small companies became HUGE companies for jumping on over-priced machines that no home user would ever want. Today we call them the computer. I think a similar thing is happening today in gaming.

Why else would we have SO much shovelware. There are decent games, Rainbow 6 was the first to come to mind, there are great games, Bioshock, but then there are mediocre to bad games (I can't think of a Bad FPS right now. Red Steel, sort of). Anyways, I think the volume of shovelware is increasing. A lot of gamers are like "Wow we got a lot of good games in 2007. Any other year, there would be 1-2 good game MAYBE per system and the rest would be left to all of the shovelware that this being forced upon us." In other words, if it weren't for the mass of games that came out, the bulk of the market would be Mini Desktop Racer, Nitrobike, Ninja bread Man, and Cruis'n Wii (a long with shovelware products on other consoles).

Seems like a good summation of the eternal 'are games getting rehashy?' debate.

Whereas it will P some people O, there's always someone that wants to play those games.

I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm going to say this.

Bad games don't kill gaming as long as you don't buy them.

you're right, I guess those games had fooled everybody into calling them innovative and well-made, you've really opened my eyes.

Although you still kind of fail for calling Portal an FPS, fyrus.

I know. But I couldn't think of anything else. Although it is first person, and you do shoot things. Just not bullets.

It's a puzzle game. First person, but not a shooter.
