My rating from 1 to 12 for each of the categories, I like this thread. It was a good idea rounds1!

Price 3
Exclusives 2
Games Library 1
Controller 4
BC 5
Online 7
Arcade 8
Movie Playback 11
Media Capabilities 12
Cross Functionality 10
Reliability 6
Customer Service 9

Each category is then split into what I consider the best.
Wii
Price 3 (it's the cheapest and the games are the cheapest)
Exclusives 2 (has the most)
Controller 4 (I just love how you hand aren't restricted so close together)
BC 5 (all GC games and also has all old games on wii shop, PS3 in UK has never really had any BC)
Reliability 6 (between Wii and PS3 but as Nintendo has never made anything that breaks it wins on past experience)
Customer Service 9 (only from what i've heard)

PS3
Movie Playback 12 (it has Blu-ray)
Cross Functionality 10 (it's the only one that's actually designed to)

Xbox 360
Games Library 1 (it has the most games)
Online 7 (it is the best for online)
Arcade 8 (the only one with an arcade)
Media Capabilities 11 (it links up with my PC great - no experience of PS3 here though so i'm an unreliable source)

This thread is good as you can see why people have chosen their consoles. The idea opposes fanboyism!

Boffo, I can appreciate most of what you've said but for the sake of good debate...

PS3
Price - To me price doesn't mean the lowest price, but the most value for what you're paying. For all that the PS3 includes at what is now is a decent price I give it the win here. Most of it is useless if you're only using it to play games

Games Library - A good variety of games across pretty much all genres has been more than enough to keep me happy so far. With only a couple of 90%+ games? It may win this in future but there are hardly any games out yet.

Controller - It's worked fine for me the last two generations and it's black. It really wins because it's black. This controller is outdated and uncomfortable. I suppose if you're used to it though.

BC - Let's just break it down. 360 is BC with many Xbox games. Wii is BC with all Gamecube games. All PS3's are BC with PS1 games, and all but one are BC with PS2 games. Even without the PS2 BC the PS3 wins by volume of games that are BC. I've included all the games you can buy from the Wii shop. Plus the UK PS3 doesn't have BC anymore. Wii wins this hands down IMO

Movie Playback - Plays Blu-Ray and DVD plus various computer formats. This is good!

Media Capabilities - It can do a lot more than the Super Nintendo can. Yes it can but I still prefer Super Nintendo!

Cross Functionality - The PS3 and the PSP were made to work together and their functionality is still increasing. Great addition to the PS3

Reliability - RRoD. WiiConnect24 overheating problem........until the PS3 has a common defect it wins here. You might be right on this one...

Wii
Exclusives - I won't say that it neccessarily has the best exclusives, but no other console relies as much on it's exclusives as the Wii does. Definately some of the best exclusives though

Customer Service - I've never had to call customer service for any console I've owned, so I have no experience. I'll just assume that since Nintendo has been in the business the longest, it should have the best CS. Good reasoning

360
Online - I have no experience with it, but it's the only one you pay for, so it had better be the best. Live is good, apart from the issues over Christmas

Arcade - Only system with an arcade, so it wins by default. It's still not that good though...

It's hard to rank them in any order since most of these categories haven't applied prior to this generation, so I don't have enough experience with them to make an accurate judgement.

I'll just recounter the one's that you debated.

Price - I'm used to only playing games, but I've been using all the other features that it comes with too. Comparing the two consoles I own this gen, I've gotten way more out of the money I spent on the PS3 than the money I spent on the Wii.

Games - I don't rate a system based only upon 90% + games. The games library includes more than those, and I have had no complaints about the quantity of games available on the PS3. With the two I bought yesterday I have 14 retail games in 13 months of console ownership.

Controller - I suppose I'm used to it though.

BC - I do not count the Virtual Console as backwards compatibility. If I have to repurchase a game and just can't stick an original cartridge in the console, I don't call that backwards compatibility.

Media - I would hope you'd consider the SNES better. It's still the greatest. I just really had nothing else to say for that selection. I've heard that the PS3 and 360 are pretty much a toss up, so I went with what I use. Sorry Wii, but no consideration for you here.

Arcade - As I said. It wins by default. I have no idea what it offers.

And Rounds... wii has best esclusives?
Think of how many exclusives have been made for the Wii. Not only Nintendos but even games like Red Steel that just simply aren't made for other consoles. The Wii is about 90% exclusives!

Minus the thick stack of PS2 games maybe.

I'd put it at around 30-50 percent overall. (Maybe lower)

The PS3 has sort've an arcade, no? What are games like FLOW considered? I wouldn't have put that as a category if the 360 were the only console to feature it.

And thanks for the vote of support, Darth!

Downloadable games. PSN store content. Stuff to spend money on. I'm out, but there are probably others things I would call it before an arcade.

Well, they are arcade games, so that's what I would consider the PS3's "arcade." It might not be specifically called an arcade, but the games being offered are that very thing.

I don't know how many the PS3 has of those, though.

Well I'll leave my rating as it is, if for nothing else than the fact that the 360 has an Arcade version.

lol, if you swapped arcade to PS3 then the 360 would only be left with one category...
