| OK the idea's stolen from Ed (and we've debated this a while ago) but I think after this gens growth there will be enough gamers to satisfy 4 console manufacturers. Who would you like to join the current line up of console manufacturers the most and why? If made a poll and included companies who have tried this before and those who re in a strong position to try. Include your reasons... Last edited by Darth Daver; February 22nd, 2008 at 05:19 PM. |

| I would want Tiger to make a console. They could port all their old handheld games to the new system. Just imagine how great those black squares would look on a big screen.

| I've gone for Philips, I like their stuff and they're usually quite innovative. The only problem would be that they haven't made any games themselves. They would have to buy out some game designers first. Plus they're European which I hope would give us a chance of getting stuff FIRST!

| I reckon Crapple will. But it'll be overpriced, and lack basic things such as being able to play games.

| Let's see; Apple disqualified (Pippin) Philips disqualified (CD-i) Nokia disqualified (N-Gage) All about phones too... Atari and Sega are both burned and scarred from trying. EA/Activision or other biggies? that would be craptastic! A small fry? Don't have the necessary financial muscle... This leaves Other, such as Samsung or LG who want to have everything for the living room, or tangentially related companies like Nvidia, Intel or AMD. |

| Philips. I'd be cool to see a Dutch console!

The Philips CD-i happened all the way in 1991, it was expensive for its time and barely anyone remember it. Sega and Atari, they wont bother to try again. Nokia should give the N-Gage another chance, but I don't know if the people are ready for another N-Gage. You've got to realize some consoles failed due to pricing and lack of games, but now that the Sony PS3 created a market for high priced consoles with delayed games, and Nintendo Wii brought in millions of new gamers, the video game market now is more diverse than it was 10 or 15 years ago.
