The Wii - The only pure gaming console?

Nintendo is about gaming, Sony and Microsoft are about taking over your living room.

Nintendo innovates, to make games as fun and accessible as possible. Sony and Microsoft try to jam as much computing power into their consoles as possible and market their console as a digital hub, for your music and movies, oh not to forget games.

Of all the three consoles, the Wii was the most enjoyable and entertaining, but it is a bit lacking in Role Play Games, and that is a big factor for me. Hopefully, the library will expand soon.

But seriously, the Wii offers things that are intended to rival other media in your living room as well. Web browser, News, Weather... It's just as much a unpure gaming machine as the others.

Sony have never claimed they wanted to do anything else though, it's always been their plan.

I suppose if to be a pure gaming console you have to ignore what consumers want, then yes. The Wii is the only pure gaming console. :P
