| Right now the market seems perfect. Three different consoles trying to cater to 3 different markets. But it might not always be this way, and a company will either drop out or join in. So when do you think this will happen? |

| 3 is all the market can hold. Microsoft and Sony both have enough money to keep going, something Atari and Sega never had. Nintendo have always made profit. We could be static for quite some time.

| yeah the market is very good the way it is now. 3 major competitors drives prices down, and makes the competition for really good game, and exclusives very hot. I mean, I could possibly see a company like apple trying to get involved, but its perfect the way it is right now, and I dont think a 4th system would work, no matter who it is.

| As the market size is growing, I can see more consoles joining in. I sure hope so

| I wouldn't be surprised if Apple joins the race in a not to distant future. (and if they are smart they launch their console in the middle of a existing generation)

| I doubt it will be this/next gen. I'm sure we would've heard something by now. If anyone was going to join the console market they would have to buy some game developers to increase first party games. Unless it's a company who currently makes games... Anyway, I definately think it's possible and I would certainly appreciate another console. It's most likely to be a handheld though, the handheld market is growing a lot faster than the home console is. |

| i agree with most. it should stay the same for some time, 3 is about all the market can handle and it will stay this way while everyone is still making money
