lolz at ps3 being more casual than wii.

1. Nintendo has lost total control over the Wii's developers.
True but who buys a wii for its 3rd party games anyways?

2. Blu-ray.
Lols this is why its so unfordable for casuals

3. Free online.
Sorta true but most casual don't even use online so why would they care?

4. Comparable choices for casual gamers on PSN
Casuals who grew up playing classic nintendo games will by far choose that over a bunch of games they have never heard of any day. Nostalgia is a winar

5. Home as more than a gimmick.
lols same as #3 if you are a casual player you won't use it anyways

6. A strong 2008 line-up
Not a strong casual line up which is what this post is about. Mario Kart and SSBB alone are more attractive to the casuals then anything I saw listed on the ps3 list.

The guy sounds a little angry to take seriously and all of his points are based on Nintendo just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses. Like Sony is going to make all of these great advances and Nintendo is going to sit there and watch it happen.

I stopped reading his ramblings after this sentence, as it made him look like either a PS3 fanboy or an anti-Nintendite:

Quote:
They're now content with pumping out waggle-enhanced minigames and ports instead of focusing on original titles, and in the end, it will cripple the Wii as the console of rehashed crap.
While true, he could've been a little more objective.

True, but going by the sales of the GT games, which are some of the best selling racing games ever, there's certainly casual appeal with at least that game.

2. BluRay is a very "hardcore" option at the moment. Honestly, the PS3 is still too.

You almost have to own a HDTV for it to be useful. I don't see 12 year olds buying 40 inch 1080p TVs anytime soon.

6. Strong lineups are for hardcore gamers. Casuals buy games at christmas time.

Casuals usually know two words.

Nintendo, and Playstation.

lol most casuals don't even have their consoles hooked up to the internet. At least the casuals I know.

What do u think all the facebook and myspace junkies are gunna do? They aren't gunna switch over to a console social networker simply because A. Myspace and Facebook do the job better B. The social network that will be on Home isn't gunna be the casuals its gunna be the hard core psfanboys so why would the casuals join em?

Casuals will enjoy Home, but I don't see them running out to buy a Playstation for it - not at its current price, anyway. And not when there are better alternatives for that sort of thing on PC.
