Xbox 360 price cut in Europe, how will this affect sales?

Sony is supposedly at or near the break even point. Plus they will want to continue to grow the Blu-Ray market now that it's competing with standard DVD, so a price cut isn't really unlikely nor will it hurt Sony that much.

THAT would be very interesting. A 360 equipped with blu-ray for at or beneath the same price as a PS3? Very interesting...

If Microsoft could market a Blu-ray drive at $99, that would be $1 cheaper than the equivalent PS3, with a back-catalogue of decent games. The elite + BD drive would also be cheaper than the 60gb PS3.

I say they put a BD drive in what will be the new Elite AND make an add-on. Make the Elite cheaper than the $600 PS3 and price the add-on for about $100 and they'll be golden. Or, come out with BD versions of each of the current SKU's, but that would piss everyone off.

They have an opportunity with BD to beat Sony at their own game, though, which is pretty funny. They're going to be making 360's soon for about the price of a McDonald's hamburger, so the sky's the limit.

A 360 blu ray drive will either launch soon, but be no cheaper than 149$, or MS will wait and perhaps sell it at 99$, but by then, Blu Ray players will start coming down in price a lot anyway.
