I buy some older titles there to close any gaps, (they don't call them used, but pre-played) but I won't ever sell them anything, because they pay something like 10% of RRP, and sell the same game for 70-85% of RRP. (I haven't actually sold any game I bought, ever.)

What do you normally do with the used games you don't plan to play ever again?

And usually if you sell them the game gack within 6 months, you can get a considerable amount back. Like, you can probably still get $30 for COD4 or something like that.

It's definitely good to buy the pre-played games when there's nothing new coming out and the used game is one you were on the fence over when it was released.

I recently sold nearly all of my games for about a quarter of what they're worth.

How hardcore is that?

You guys that play for fun etc... Why do we always think of terms in hardcore and casual. I still think we need a middle ground, what I call recreational. I like "hardcore" games but play them casually. I can't stand those simple casual puzzle games, etc...

I am a games enthusiast. I have many consoles, I spend money on older rare games, I love researching consoles and games, I probably have a bulk of 250+ video games currently (I probably had an additional 250 over the years that I sol), but I don't really play games that much.

Most of my games are in shelves, I've got a couple of hundred console games and maybe 350 PC games. Very few of those are "don't ever want to play again" I keep revisiting my older games on a regular basis(I'm even planning to resurrect/rebuild an old 486/Pentium I for some good old MS-DOS gaming again)

I've never seen anyone get that amount for a used game at my local EB, a pretty new game will give you perhaps 1/6 of RRP. I guess they have to keep their margins higher than in the US, as volume is lower.

Apart from that, I'm all good when it comes to buying pre-played games. I can't buy everything the day it hits the stores (God knows I try), and paying slightly less makes my funds stretch further.
