Blizzard job postings hint at Diablo III


VideoGamer.com has reported about a new job posting over at Blizzard, which suggests that another Diablo might be in the works. The posting says that "the team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled lead 3D designer." It then goes on to say that they are looking for someone with "excellent analytical understanding of competitive online play with various Blizzard Entertainment games and mods." While this job posting is far from a confirmation that Diablo III is coming, especially considering that it does not specify what game the new recruit will be working on, it is interesting to note that it does explicitly say that they will be working with the team behind the first two games. However, if this does having anything to do with a new Diablo, it looks as though the game will be jumping into the world of 3D, as well as featuring some extensive online capabilities.

This is the slimmest amount of evidence, but hope springs eternal. I'd love to get confirmation on a new Diablo, and I'm sure most the Blizzard fans out there would as well.

Idk if this has any relevance at all but even the thought of diablo 3 makes me happy.

Gawd I should soo not post late at night and I should learn to proofread. Can a mod fix the spelling in the 4th option as well as change the 3rd to Starcraft and next WoW?

one problem with this rumor:

The people that made Diablo 1 and 2 are largely split off Blizzard now, and made Hellgate: London.

The above is mostly what I'm worried about... though, if a new Diablo came, I'm sure it'd have the care and resources that Blizzard are pouring into Starcraft 2, even if that team is mostly new people and not the original Starcraft team.

Why would I want to play a game that a company is dedicated to ruining with patches.

I think the "unknown MMO" will be Diablo III.

I dunno why Blizz would go back to the Diablo games to be honest.

WoW provides a much more fulfilling experience.

I think from this point going forward, a new Diablo game would actually be more successful on console than PC, since MMOs have taken over PCs since Diablo 2 came out, while MMOs are still largely not much on consoles, Diablo 3 has a lot better chances on 360/PS3/Wii.

Blizzard has a high standard for their own games. They will not release a game until 'when it is done' and provides and experience that is genuinely worth playing. They cancelled StarCraft:Ghost not because they couldn't finish it, but rather they couldn't get the game up to their own quality standards.

Diablo is much, much faster than WoW. I highly suggest you start playing Diablo 2 with some of the people here.

While Blizzard could release Diablo on home consoles I don't see it happening. I will say that playing Diablo II with the Wii remote is an interesting experience.

I used to play it. Kinda boring. Yes, its "Faster paced" but very unsatisfying for me. I prefer hack and slash RPGs where you actually do more than left and right click a bunch to do your hacking and slashing.
