Most interesting bit was PS2 Iron man was the best selling version.

Thought Wii would do better though, suppose 2 record breaking months one after another is a bit much to ask. PS3 beating 360 again, unexpected and it will only grow this month with the release of MGS4

Guess it's safe to say that GTA IV didn't turn out to be a big system seller.

Some quick stats:

The PS3 is up 24,000 units(or 10.5%) from last month but it's still it's 2nd lowest total from the 5 months so far this year.

Both the 360 and the Wii are down for the 3rd consecutive month. The 360 only dropped by 1,000 systems(or 0.5%) for it's new lowest total of the year and also it lowest total since it sold 170,000 units back in July.

The Wii dropped 39,000 units(a 6% drop) leaving it as the middle sales month out of the 5 so far this year.(That'd be 3rd best/worst depending how you look at it)

For lifetime sales the big news was that the Wii jumped over the 10 million sales mark joining the 360 which did it last month. The Wii has pulled within 100,000 of the 360 so it should pass it sometime during the month of June. Lifetime sales to date are:

360 - 10,273,000
Wii - 10,186,000
PS3 - 4,449,000

The total year to date sales(2008) stand at:

Wii - 2,816,000
PS3 - 1,203,000
360 - 1,122,000

Despite falling by the highest percent of sales, the Wii was the only console to sell above both it's lifetime and year to date monthly sales average. Life to date monthly sales average:

Wii - 536,105
360 - 331,387
PS3 - 234,158

And the current monthly average so far this year only:

Wii - 563,200
PS3 - 240,600
360 - 224,400

Both the Wii and the PS3 are still selling better this year then they had prior to that, while the 360 sales continue to be much slower than they used to be.

I'm a stats kind of guy, so for me the more numbers the better. And sales numbers like this offer up all kinds of opportunities for different stats. If there are any others that you can think of for me to include, I'll happily do it.

You got attacked? What did you do? I doubt I'll be posting them at KF at all, but if you want to you have my permission. Link the post or copy and paste, whatever. I suppose you should probably reference that I did them.

If you plan on doing an NPD thread at TT you can use them there as well.

Shit, that's not even hard to do. The longest I ever spent was probably the 22 seconds for July 2007 because I knew I was about to make 85% of the forum eat crow.
