Few things.... What sort of games do you like to play? Are you willing to pay extra just to play online? Are you interested in HD movies? Would you buy downloadable games (XBL Arcade or PSN)? |

I'd say go with the Xbox360 unless you must have MGS4, GoW3, R&C, Disgaea3, or FFXIII Versus. That is unless you want the cheep Blu-ray player. Most everything else you could want is on 360 or cross platform so it doesn't matter. Basically the differences are pointless, I mean you have a 25% chance of RRoD on 360, but as a gaming system they end up about the same.

I thought the RROD was a dead issue with the new heatsinks and stuff. If you like shooters and great online go with the 360. If you are a movie buff and like the MGS series get the PS3. If you have a boatload of cash buy both.

Too little information given to be able to give informed advice. Ultimately you should line up the exclusives and pick the console that stands out as most in line with your tastes. I have both, but at the end of the day I would choose the PS3, if i were forced to choose between them. I like their exclusives lineup most.

The best place to start would be to look over the current games list and see which games available you want to play most. Then check the upcoming list and see what games you'd want to play sometime in the future. I'd put more stock into the current games since they can tide you over until new games are released. If one console has a huge advantage at this point, I'd go with that one since games should be the most important thing. If not then decide if you want Blu-Ray or not. And how much you plan to play online to determine if you think it'll be worth spending more to play online or not.
