|  G4 "year end" rewards Gamasutra - Halo 3 , Xbox 360 Top G-Phoria 2008 Awards Not sure why they think the year runs from August to July but at least they're different. These awards were voted on by the viewers, not by G4. Quote:

So let me get this straight.. Call of Duty wins best shoot.. and best online multiplayer. Yet game of the year = Halo 3? Huh? And MGS4 for best graphics? MKWii for best racing game? |

Apparently CoD is better as a shooter and online game but Halo is the better all around game? Its non-shooter and non-online parts of the game must be really good. CoD didn't even finish 2nd in GotY as MGS4 finished 40 votes behind Halo. I have no problems with MGS winning best graphics as it does look really good, even with the use of the next gen colour palette of grays and browns. And MKWii really doesn't make sense since none of the other winners showed any Wii bias.

Isn't MKWii the most mainstream "racing" game that has been released the last year? Or am I completely in the dark here. (I can't seem to remember any other bigger racing franchises during the past year)

Other games in the running for best racing game were Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Grid, Burnout Paradise, and I think one more that I can't recall.
