I have a wii for almost a year now and have tried all the high rated games on it, but what i have noticed is that majority of the games are just ported from ps2 and controls mapped to the wii controllers. The result is that the wii's graphical capabilities have never been explored and always low standard ports with bad framerates are released on wii, and guess whos blamed? The wii gets accused for having bad hardware and not the devs for being lazy porters. Instead making a game for wii from scratch with good graphics, they waste time on making games for a decade old console and deprive wii owners of high quality games. I think they should throw away their PS2 now and concentrate on the next generation Wii because everyone knows its the best selling console now. If they dont make PS2 games, they can cover the sales from making high quality wii games which will probably get them twice more sales.

Well, I see your point. But honestly, any game you can play on both Wii and PS2, is probably better playing on PS2 anyways (not to hate on the Wii or anything). Wii sells the best because of its unique features with its exclusive games (Wii Sports, Wii Fit). The PS2 is also seeing fair sales because of its low price and great line-up of games. Hell i'm sure people are getting caught up with their God of War series still. Developers wouldn't really develop for PS2 if there wasn't anything happening on it. Sony knows the PS2 is still motoring along well and so they keep pumping them out. Besides, isn't Sony losing money on the PS3? Ps2 is a good way to make some of that up I bet. |

Yes they should stop with the PS2 games. Actually it bugs me the most that only crappy games, sans Okami, seem to be the port friendly, while they can't be arsed to port Persona 4 to Wii. That's basically killing it's sales before it's even out the door. It seems only Baroque and Dokapon Kingdom got the right idea but those are apparently odder remakes from the Saturn in the first place. Ofcourse DS & PSP games are also responsible for killing games on the Wii. Nippon Ichi should port Disgaea 2 & 3 to Wii for a laugh, it's not like even 3 is using the tech the Wii couldn't handle, if they can put 1 on the DS. Oh well...

they SHOULD move on, but it doesn't make business sense. 120 million(lol) consoles says keep making games till 2057 |

It is slowly getting more releases, but as long as people are still buying the console and new games for it, there is less reason for developers to move on. Plus it's much easier and more profitable for them to just port a game to a 2nd console instead of making a whole different game. Really I think that the Wii is doing as much to keep the PS2 alive and getting new games as Sony is.

![]() But seriously my PS2 is almost 8 years old and still works perfect, my PSONE is almost 13 years (roughly) and still works perfext and my Sega Mega Drive/Genesis is about 16/17 years old and still works perfect. So that statement is incorrect UNLESS your talking about 360 then yes - hats off to you! XD | |

Just because 120 million (any quotes on this?) consoles have been sold doesnt mean every console is still working or is still being used by the buyers. Most people have probably upgraded to the next generation of consoles and dont even play their PS2 now so it doesnt make sense making games for a previous generation console and not putting in time on the games for a current generation console which is also the best selling console to date.

The PS2 is still selling at least 200,000 new consoles a month worldwide. There's obviously still a market out there that wants to buy the console and there is still the occasional PS2 game that creeps into the NPD top 10. The days of the PS2 exclusives are behind us but there's still enough people that are buying PS2 games, so if they can get away with a port it just makes sense for them to do it.

Yes, why not? PS2 is still the biggest market.
