Sony questions value of rival consoles

A Sony press release is stirring things up a bit; some choice bits:

Quote:

"The Xbox 360 requires additional money, multiple upgrades and additional external devices, putting a burden on the wallet and adds clutter to the entertainment centre," said Sony.

"The PS3 is the perfect example of a product featuring superior technology and a sophisticated design creating an ideal all-in-one entertainment product."

"The Wii’s lack of enhanced features comes at the expense of a comprehensive entertainment solution," said Sony

"So as PS3 continues to evolve without the need for additional parts or expenses, expect the competition to continue peddling add-ons in an effort to keep up with the Jones'," added SCEA.

And now Microsoft will counter with their typical response of "We like to give the customers the choice on how much to spend, instead of forcing it all upon them". Then Nintendo will say "Sony and Microsoft can say whatever they want because we don't care. Oh and check out this cool new game coming soon for the Wii. It's like Nintendogs but you can use the waggle control to make the dog wag it's tail. If core gamers whine about this then they just don't know what they like anymore."

I'm holding out hope that Sony attempts to prove their point by providing free games. Really drive home the Xbox 360 requires additional money point.
