Default So I Just Saw 3 Minutes Of Killzone 2...

It looks exactly the same as every other 8 hour long, set piece, campaign shooter, with little checkpoints and yelly cutscenes every 45 seconds that will undoubtedly be forgotten in 6 months-- Except it's nearly impossible to see anything at all since the colour palette seems to literally be about 10 shades of grey-- Furthermore, are the graphics really that good? The grey is probably not helping but all the dudes faces look like they walked straight out of a ps2 game, straight up. Another thing- How is this supposed to be 'the best fps evar' if it's only method of control is the ps1 controller? Fuckin shit sucks.

Can someone explain to me;
  1. Why this is supposed to be better than any other fps
  2. How long before you expect this to get 'Assassin's Creeded' and everybody starts hating it
  3. How so many dumbasses keep getting fooled again and again?

If you didn't play it then this thread is pointless. We have all seen videos of it.

You mean you don't base your whole opinion of a game on a 3 minute video of it?

Although I do recall Leonidas telling me quite some time ago that I wasn't able to properly rate Twilight Princess because I hadn't cleared it. Apparently that policy has changed since then, or doesn't apply to him.

I actually agree that it will never be "the best FPS ever" as long as you can only play it with dual analog.

Otherwise I won't comment on the gameplay at all.

You all know my stance on the lack of colours graphically (the models are nice thos, the game just lacks colours).

I thought how a game looks doesn't really matter. They all still look like games, etc. Just because it looks like other FPS's doesn't mean that it's going to play like them.

I mentioned the controls, right?

I thought the scale of how good a hardcore fps' gameplay is only boils down to how closely they copied counterstrike-

No offense but I can't imagine the gameplay in this being the 'second coming'

from ign [who i hate obviously, just saying];

9.5 Presentation
Everything from the first entrance onto the battlefield to the last cutscene creates a hectic, fun and fast-paced thrill ride through a warzone where each step you take could be your last.
9.5 Graphics
Phenomenal visuals prove that Guerrilla either met or surpassed that infamous E3 trailer. Some technical issues hold it back from being a completely flawless masterpiece.
9.0 Sound
7.1 channel sound captures every nuance of the battlefield from gunshots to screams along with a great soundtrack. Weakly delivered, curse-filled dialogue (sans Brian Cox) could've been done better.
9.0 Gameplay
You'll have to get used to the firearms as well as the AI on both sides. More turret and vehicle sections would've been great, but outside of that, the single-player campaign is fun to play through.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
Multiplayer is extremely deep and has the added bonus of an offline skirmish mode. This is where you'll spend the majority of your time once the credits roll.
9.4
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

9.0 Presentation
If this is war, consider me a future draft-dodger.
10 Graphics
From top to bottom, one of the best-looking console games around.
9.5 Sound
The explosions will shake you; the constant sounds of gunfire will put you on edge. The end song is an added bonus and properly immortalizes the unfortunate phrase, "Go deep and hard."
9.5 Gameplay
An excellent shooter that is as intense an experience as you can find in gaming. The multiplayer is also top-notch.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
The single-player experience is brief, but there are many other things that will hold your attention once the campaign is complete.
9.4
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

The fact that most reviews so far have actually stated that the single player mode is worthwhile, puts Killzone 2 ahead of most shooters from this gen, in my book. Most FPS's now a days put the primary focus on the online play and then slap a campaign on the disc.

Of course I'll have to play it before I actually draw any conclusions.
