EA has gotten a new policy over the last few years (probably because of the Westwood issue), and most new members are largely independant. If forced to care more about the bottom line.

An EA console would seriously challenge sony/microsoft, and probably beat them both out.

Original bid was 2bn straight up, and when that was rejected they went and offered $26 per share to the shareholders.
