Default New model Xboxs coming?

Hi all, first time post here.

I had a 360 which died on me, it was a launch console and pretty battered up to be honest (had 2 previous owners, was given to me for free), cant get it repaired on warrenty cause it had been opened by a previous owner.

Anyway I enjoyed my short time with it so I want to get a new elite or premium model new but of course I have RROD anxiety.

I read online on a few sites about a new model this august called "jaspar" which has a smaller GPU which should make it a lot more reliable.

DO you guys have any other information about this? will it be elite only or somthing like that?

I could wait till august to get it if it means RROD peace of mind like.

Thanks in advance

They've already updated the CPU, but they're going to update the GPU in the coming months. I have one with the updated CPU and have had absolutely no trouble. It doesn't even seem to get hot. I've had it for about 6 months so far.

I have mine on top of my stereo, sitting horizontally. There's open space all around it and the power brick is separate on the floor. Just make sure it's on a flat, hard surface with plenty of ventilation around it. Also, anything you can do to keep dust off it would be good. And make sure to keep it stable, particularly while a disk is in the tray. Basically, just treat it with respect and common sense and you should be fine. Don't leave it on while you're not playing, too.
