Unconfirmed atm. I'm actually curious as to how the other versions will be different.

Yeah thats something to keep in mind as well. Im sure the PC version will have the most content and options in it. Plus with the possibility of mods...the PC would probably be the best route to go for this game. But we'll see.

I'll wonder if they implement the DS to Wii functions that are available.

YouTube - Spore 35min Demonstration from the GDCe

Phenomenal demonstration of Spore from 2005. Obviously the game looks a bit better now (specifically with draw distance and movement fluidity) but this is a great demonstration of the massive scope of Spore.

It really is a huge undertaking.

I thought that there was a Mac version of Spore planned to be released right alongside the PC version. All of Will Wright's stuff has gotten a Mac port even though EA gobbled up Maxis.

It wouldnt suprise me if he did do a mac version. Wright is one of the few big people in the industry who really cares about making something that he knows the people who buy it will love. Actually he and peter molyneux are the only 2 I can think of. I would expect there to be a mac version of it.

I am looking forward to this game a lot. I am trying to keep my expectations low because I don't want to foolishly disappoint myself by having unrealistic expectations. A friend of mine was telling me about Spore a few years ago and the idea sounded so amazing it was hard to wrap my head around it.

There is a small write up in PC Gamer January edition that does not really give away anything new but has some screen shots with some information about the style of play and what some of the on screen icons mean.

If the game is half as good as what it seems so far it will still be a blast.
