Default Gears or Brawl?

Gears of War or Brawl? I can buy only one. Which shall it be? I'm big on online play, and right now I'm thinking gears. Voice chat and tactical shooting is sounding pretty good. Also, I hear Gears looks beautiful on an HDTV. Opinions?

I can tell you the majority of people around here will say Brawl. Especially since it's going to be the newer game.

I can't really say because I'm not much into fighters and I don't have a Wii so of course I'm going to go with Gears.

I know GoW2 is confirmed but it will be a while before it is released. Don't reccomend Brawl just because it's gonna be newer.

I personally recommend Gears over Brawl. Why? Because I haven't liked (except a passing intrest or drunk party nights) any of the Smash games. (puts on flame suit)

Well. I've played over a thousand of Gears of War matches. Got almost all achievements, finished the Campaign on Insane, blahblah. Literally did everything you can do in that game.

I wasn't fun most of the time. And from I'm seeing from Brawl. It's gonna be good.

So I would buy Brawl first. And Gears of War after that. But considering Brawl's massive hype and probably sell-outs. I would buy Gears if you can't find Brawl.

Or buy Brawl and a used Gears.
THIS WAS ONION

I would personally recommend brawl for a reason you've already pointed out. GoW2 is coming (and possibly this year).

Well, Brawl is gonna be amazing etc., that's what I would go with, but it's mostly on personal preference. If you're big on online as you say, Gears probably offers up a better experience. The online is still there in Brawl, and while it may not be as deep, I expect most people will be able to look past it just because the game itself is so much fun. But you have an HDTV. Chalk one up for Gears.

Depends. How did you like previous Smash games?

If you're big on online gaming then stay far far away from Gears. imo, the online is near unplayable.
Worth a rent for the SP.

I enjoyed the MP fairly much, could use bigger maps and teams, but it gave some pretty good and intense battles at times.

I'm gonna go with Brawl though since I enjoyed the previous games in the series and the new one looks pretty good.

That is a bunch of stinky Onions.

I love the MP and have played many matches. I like the small squad versus squad based combat... allows for much more communitcation and a lot less lone wolfing/TKing losers.
