| The worst thing is that EA aren't after Take Two, they're after Rockstar and GTA.

| I'm truly saddened that it's so easy for larger companies to bully smaller companies around. EA is everything I hate about today's world. Even though I'm sure they already have enough money to all quit EA right now and live a rather lavish lifestyle for the rest of their lives, they're still out to ruin everyone's favorite developers. Titles published by EA and developed by outside studios are sometimes actually good (Crysis). But every title that comes to mind that has been created by a former great studio that has been acquired by EA ends up total shit. If it were possible to truly organize boycotts anymore, EA would be my prime target.

| You can buy out a developer, but you can't buy the staff, which is a good thing. A dev is only as good as it's people. A lot of absorbed companies have seen their staff walk out to form new studios. I guess that's how the cycle works.

| thats true, but every time EA absorbs someone, when the empolyee's eventually walk out and try to start over, they are left with little to no rep and DRASTICALLY scaled back finances and and such, as i mentioned above with Westwood.

| The problem with that is that they have to start all over. And chances are, they'll never be as popular as they once were. And often times the teams will split up and spread to different companies. Edit: Damn, Sharky beat me to the punch.

| Westwood sucked to begin with *dodges numerous bricks* Remember when I made a thread about "What is killing gaming" and no one got the point? I'm pretty sure if I made that thread right now (and EA did intend on making a console) there would be a lot more answers, largely due to this issue. |

| agreed Ltzasz, its a shame that when we have a genuinely good topic for debate everyone dismisses it as needless whining without actually realizing the point of the thread....
