My older brother is an animator at IO interactive (creators of hitman) I remember when they gained succes with their first game, my brother was afraid that EA was gonna buy them out. So even the devs behind the games are afraid of EA, it's up to us to stop companies like that, they're completely ruining the gaming industry

Interesting theory. If that is the case, the xbox 720 will be the new shovelware console, with all of EA's rehashes and what not. The only thing bothering me is why wouldn't Microsoft just buy everything to keep it exclusive? Their pockets are much deeper than EA's.

It's all about the bottom line. If MS buys 10 development companies for 10 billion, but only makes 4 billion off those company's games, then that is a loss for them.

Take-Two, with the likes of GTA IV, is a no brainer. MS could consider buying them as well, but being as far in the hole as they are overall with the xbox brand, I don't think they're in a position to do that. There can't be an xbox brand if it's only going to continually lose money.

I noemally don't care if a company buys another but this case is different. Every company EA has bought has never been able to rival their past glory.
