You can't fit many updates on a memory card, especially when maps are bundled in the update.

Of all the online games I play, I've gotten 1 map for free so far.

I didn't say you'd have all the same freedoms as you would if you had an HDD, but you can still do plenty without one. Of course, it's always better to have one though.

If you have an Arcade you can't download many arcade games, or DLC, or play Burnout Online.

If you don't have Pro/Premium or better, you don't really have a 360 since you're missing out on the best feature, XBLA

It's something to do with rather than streaming for the disc just around the player, it has to stream the entire city around multiple players, so it needs a cache. Plus, it was lead developed on PS3, which has the HDD as standard.

For every game that says they can't, there's a game that proves you can. Test Drive: Unlimited, just about a launch title, had the same type of open world with thousands of players driving around the island at once, over a thousand miles of road, plus seperate races, etc., etc. A lot of people turned up their noses at TDU, but I thought it was an excellent game that was very ambitious (coming from Atari especially).

They got done with the PS3 version and were like, "eff this!" basically. It's just kind've funny, but I feel bad for the poor shmucks sitting there with only a memory card.

Here's a few points I brought up on N4G:

"Sony have played it way more smart.

Gran Turismo 5, Gran Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 all in the same time frame against the 360 and... well... Grand Theft Auto 4.

Microsoft should be afraid, they can say "DLC" while Sony can say "games"

Who is going to buy a 360 if they haven't already when that's the line up against the PS3s multi-million sellers?

Microsoft had their chance, last year, with Bioshock, Halo 3 and Mass Effect and they couldn't do it."

Someone had then said that Microsoft don't want to compete against MGS4 and GT5P and that it was good planning to maximise sales of GTAIV on 360 and not a shortage of good 360 titles:

"But that's exactly the problem, they're putting all their force behind against a multiplatform title and it's too much, they need to focus on their exclusive titles.

People will see 3 well known, high quality franchises on PS3 against the 1 on 360, where is their money going to go?"

That's easy to say for you. You have a PS3 bias. Of course you're going to feel that way, while others my only like 2, 1, or even none of those 3 "big" games.

This isn't a bad thing that you feel that way. We all have consoles that we like and believe in, but just like the card PS3 played for the last year. It isn't over till it's over.

I'm not even counting these in terms of "like" because I wouldn't list GTA as a franchise I even like, I'm only getting it because this one seems genuinely interesting, I'm counting in terms of franchise sales. They're popular games and are traditionally system sellers.

I don't think the 360 is dead or anything, it's not that, but I really question what Microsoft are trying to do with GTAIV. I really don't think it's healthy for manufactuerers to put their eggs in one basket (especially in a multiplatform case).

GTA IV is a large reason why I ended up with a PS3 as well. Prior to launch I had been paying more attention to the Wii, but the inability to find it gave me the time to realize that I'd miss out on stuff like GTA IV if I just had a Wii. Of course that was well over a year ago, so I doubt that sale could realistically be attributed to GTA IV.
