sarcasm? i don't see how it factors in. After all the 360 has a 3 year warranty. The bonus is about 2% of the games library bonus for the 360

It's not sarcasm. When you have a bunch of friends w/360's whose consoles died and then a bunch of friends w/PS3's whose didn't, which console would you likely lean towards?

I mean, maybe guys like you and I are willing to put up with it, but not everybody is. It's true, though, that the 360 with its library is a very attractive proposition right now.

I think that's kind of the point I've been getting at in this thread.

Microsoft is doing a lot of things right, but they're sending signals indicating that GTA4-related hardware sales are going to swing strongly in their favor.

Unless they know something the rest of us don't, though, I'm not seeing too many convincing reasons to favor one format over the other. A potential hardware purchaser might have more friends that own 360s, which might push them in that direction. Or they might have a bunch of friends that have busted 360s - which would have completely the opposite effect.

Even so, I'm sure the 360 will see some sales bumps in hardware from GTA4, but their suggested expectation of lopsided 360 hardware sales over PS3 hardware sales as a direct result of GTA4 is looking a little unrealistic. I personally think they'll be lucky if they split hardware sales down the middle.

Might not all be big sellers/system sellers. But they will all get over a million. Gears will get over 5 mill.

Gears 2 will shift a ton of consoles, the rest also to a lesser degree, which is what I'm getting at, GT and MGS are traditionally system sellers.

I would say of that list the only system seller at all is gears 2 the rest is just fodder

MGS3 was made solely for fans though. I didn't even hear about it until release week.
