What's a "good gamer"?

I learn very quickly at a game to eventually get pretty damn good. I would say I'm average at most games.

And are we talking just about skill level or overall? If overall I would say a good gamer is one that has no console bias, reads up on his games and knowledgeable about upcoming games, and plays for fun always not for competition.

I think a good gamer--aside from being 'good' at them is someone who can play with his friends and not whine about it if he loses, basically a good sport/has a good time. Also someone who doesn't have his big bro beat the hard levels/bosses lol. Its also pretty B.A. if he gets a nice HD TV to really enjoy his Xbox Elite (Insight ) <--Hey, it looks like a double chinned man!

I play games for the sheer enjoyment and/or challenge of playing games.

I'm probably not that good at most games I play, but good enough to finish any story type mode that may be there.

I still don't understand how people can take online games so seriously though.
