| I'd say i'm a good gamer. But i'm best at FPSs, RPGs and I would say i'm average at sports games and racing games. I don't whine when I lose and I don't mock people if they suck.

| Yeah, that's what I hate is the watchers who mock everyone and then get in the game and get headshot 5 times in a row.

| Anyone who can make a game fun. Even if he lacks skill. If both have fun, then they are good gamers. Now, "good" gamers as in people who play for money would be no fun to play against for most of us. I would call him a skilled player, rather then good.

| Go do sports then they give more reward (and can bring big cash if your good enough). I agree with Napalms definition, you should play games to have fun even if you lose. |

| A good gamer to me is someone who enjoys the games they do play. They don't have to be good at it. They don't have to be good at every gametype (very, very few people are). Just someone who can have fun at whatever they happen to be playing instead of getting caught up in "where can I find cheats?!" and "dat guy sux". People that use cheats fall way down the respect ladder for me. I don't personally mind if someone looks up something when they're genuinely stuck, or if they've already finished the main part of a game and just are going for 100% completion or something. But I just see too many people that dive for a strategy guide or GameFAQs/IGN before they even start the game. Case in point, my nieces were terrible gamers in this respect. It took me years to break them of the habit of using cheats and guides before finishing a game; their mother (my sister) would habitually buy them strategy guides for almost every game, and it took several years of nudging to get her to stop doing that and let her kids think for themselves instead of getting everything spoon-fed to them. On a personal level, I consider myself a fairly skilled gamer. I'm above average to excellent at a number of different game types (space shooters, platformers, RPGs, RTS, karaoke games) and decent at just about everything else.
